Creative Movement (2
1/2 - 4yrs) -This
preschool class is designed to develop eye/hand coordination, upper and lower
body strengthening and stretching, large and fine motor skills, coordination and
encouraging group interaction. Exercises, balance, tumbling, dancing, and lots of
imagination are the core of this class! Girls: Leotard & Pink Tights Boys:
White Shirt & Black Pants
Kinderdance Combo (4 -6yrs) -
A beginner dance class consisting of
a total of one and a half hours of Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Tumbling. Girls: Leotard & Pink Tights Boys:
White Shirt & Black Pants
Ballet
- The foundation for all
dance styles, incorporating strength, coordination, and grace. Classes consist
of Barre & Centre work for the more serious and older student with
preparation for choreographic variations and Pointe work. Girls: Solid
color Leotard & Pink Tights Boys: White Tank & Black Pants
Pointe
- Ballet technique
performed at an advanced level in Pointe Shoes. Director recommendation is
required. Solid color Leotard & Pink Tights.
Lyrical
- A contemporary form of
dance which emphasizes a combination of Ballet and Jazz performed to express the
lyrics of the song. Girls: Leotard & Tights Boys: White Tank
& Black Pants
Jazz
- Dynamic style of dance
emphasizing movement combinations, strengthening and stretching. Our goal is to
teach a strong and flexible technique allowing dancers to learn varied styles
and choreography. Aerobicwear/Dancewear Required
Modern -
A
free motion form of dance dealing with the elements of space, time, weight, and
energy. Students focus on improvisation and creative expression. Girls: Leotard
& Tights Boys: White Shirt & Black Pants
Tap
- A rhythmic, energetic dance
style, stressing time, accuracy, articulation of sound, performance &
musicality. Students are also taught how to count music. Aerobicwear/Dancewear
Required
Hip Hop
-This is an exciting urban
style dance class which incorporates body isolations, movement combinations, and
high energy with today’s funky music video dance steps. Hip hop exposes
students to the fundamentals of MTV-style street dance. Aerobicwear/Dancewear
Required
Break Dancing-This
class is a street dance style teaching moves often seen on the streets of NYC or
on MTV. Danced to pop, funk or hip hop music and often remixed to prolong
the breaks, breaking is a well-known hip hop dance style. Breaking involves
Toprock (movement while standing up), Downrock (movement on the ground), Freezes
(acrobatic pauses in movement) and Power Moves ((large movements often involving
rotation). Wear comfortable clothes and clean sneakers.
Musical Theatre- Focused
on acting, voice, and drama, this class will teach theatre education; including
auditioning techniques. Explore the excitement and fun of theatre through roll
play, games, creative drama, improvisation, and the exposure to plays and
musicals. Wear Comfortable Clothes.
Theatre Dance
-
Dynamic style of dance
emphasizing movement combinations, strengthening and stretching. Our goal is to
teach a strong and flexible technique allowing dancers to learn varied styles
and choreography based on Broadway Musicals. Aerobicwear/Dancewear
Required
Acrobatics
- An Introductory
acrobatics program focusing on floor tumbling. This class is designed to improve
balance, coordination, flexibility. Girls: Leotard & Bare
legs/Footless Tights Boys: White Shirt & Black Pants
Private & Semi-Private Lessons
-(At
the Director’s discretion) 30 minute lesson in groups of 1-6 dancers. Students
must be at least 6 yrs of age.

Based on class
registration and interest, adult classes will be offered in any dance style.

HipHop/Break Dance
This beginner level class is a street dance style teaching
moves often seen on the streets of NYC or on MTV.
Danced to pop, funk or hip hop music and often remixed to prolong the breaks,
breaking is a well-known hip hop dance style. Breaking involves Toprock (movement while standing up), Downrock (movement on the ground), Freezes (acrobatic pauses in movement) and Power Moves
(sounds like a video game, huh?). Try it out!
You're not going to "break" yourself! Wear
comfortable clothes and clean sneakers.
Contemporary Dance & Stretch
An
introduction to the contemporary form of
dance which emphasizes a combination of Ballet- the foundation for all
dance styles, incorporating strength, coordination, and grace, and Jazz- a dynamic
style of dance emphasizing movement combinations,
strengthening and stretching, performed to express the
lyrics of the song. Our goal is to teach the basics of dance technique
allowing dancers to learn varied styles and choreography in a
relaxed atomsphere.
Tap
Do you dream of
dancing like Cyd Charisse, Fred Astaire or Gene Kelly?
Or maybe it's Shirley Temple??? Either way, you CAN learn- at
ANY AGE! Our Adult Tap class is offered in a stress
free environment! It's so much fun! Tap is a rhythmic, energetic dance
style. This class will have you shuffle ball changing
around the house in no time! You might just grow curly
red hair and take 30 years off of your life! ..and
don't worry, this class is just for FUN! We won't make
you go on stage and perform, unless you REALLY want to!

ZUMBA! Fanatical Fitness

Do you buy exercise videos and intend on using them, but just
don't get around to it? Dance classes not quite what you're
looking for?? Want to make sure it's worth your time and
you'll get results??? ... Then this class is just right
for you!
It's so much easier to work with a live
instructor and you won't need to invest in any expensive
exercise equipment! We are offering a great new class this
summer called Fanatical Fitness. This class is an "Insanity"
like workout consisting of a mix of intense cardio with brief
rests mixed with interval circuit training designed to trim
fat, increase muscle tone and improve endurance. Classes
will be taught/lead by Rich and SueAnn Webb. Rich is a
Physical Readiness Coordinator for his police department and
SueAnn is a Yoga Fit Instructor who already teaches here at
Dance Fusion. The class is geared toward both sexes and will
be adjusted to the average fitness level of the class. All
moves can be completed in a small area with no equipment and
require limited coordination. Classes will consist of a warm
up, followed by stretching, then the workout and ending with
a cool down stretch. This is a great workout for both men
and women!
Strength &
Conditioning
Fitness

Personal training in a
semi-private setting! Weight training can help you tone
your muscles, improve your appearance and fight age-related
muscle loss. This class isn't designed to help you bulk up.
On the contrary, it is designed to slim down tone and firm
your muscles. Strength training uses weights for resistance.
Weight training challenges your muscles by providing a stress
to the muscle that causes it to adapt and get stronger,
similar to the way aerobic conditioning strengthens your
heart. This class is a 1 hour workout using your own body
weight as resistance along with kettlebells, dumbbells and
jump ropes taught interval style. Anyone can do this
class as the weights (provided) come as light as 10 lbs. or as
heavy as 25 lbs. If you think you'll need more weight
you are welcome to bring it with you.
The class can be adjusted to the individual fitness
level of each of the participants. All moves can be completed
in a small area with provided equipment and require limited
coordination. Classes will consist of a warm up,
a strength training workout, and ending with a cool down
stretch. This is a great workout for both men and women!
Taught by Mike McInerney, class size will be limited based on equipment.
New York Style Salsa (On2)

This
Salsa class connects more with the rhythmic percussive elements in classic salsa music, and
feels more natural to the dancer. Compared to ballroom salsa, this style is more fluid, allows for more freedom of movement and individual interpretation and lends itself to more of a "club" style.
If you want to learn salsa then this is the group for you! Come meet with other aspiring salsa dancers in a friendly no pressure environment. Lessons are taught by Nelson Gomez.
He gives instruction on a down to earth personal level and makes sure everyone gets the attention that they need. If you've never danced Salsa before, now is your chance to learn! You can sign up with a partner or as a single.
Oh yeah, and it counts as exercise too!
