Classes Offered

Aerial Arts

This class is for those who love the idea of their feet being anywhere but, on the ground, and are ready for some extra challenge!   Students will learn French climbs, basic foot locks, and, if ready, tricks without the knot like inverting and small drops. On the Lyra students learn basic transitions, tucks, and various hangs.  Introductory level requires no prior experience and skills taught are customized to individual’s strength and skill level.

Creative Movement

Designed for preschool children age 2-3, this class focuses on developing upper and lower body strengthening and stretching, gross and fine motor skills, coordination and encouraging group interaction. Exercises, tumbling, dancing, and lots of imagination are the core of this class! Parent/Guardian can participate too (allowed, but not required)!

KinderDance 

A beginner dance class designed for ages 4-5 to develop upper and lower body strengthening and stretching, gross and fine motor skills, coordination and encouraging group interaction.  Depending on the combination class chosen, this introductory class will explore Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Breakdance and/or Acrobatics. Students must be toilet trained.

Ballet 

The foundation for all dance styles, incorporating strength, coordination, and grace.  Ballet is a theatrical art form using dancing, music, and scenery to convey a story, theme, or atmosphere. Classes consist of Barre & Center work for the more serious and older student with preparation for choreographic variations and Pointe work.

Pointe

Pointe technique is the part of classical ballet technique that concerns pointe work, in which a ballet technique is performed at an advanced level where the dancer supports all body weight on the tips of fully extended feet within pointe shoes. Director recommendation is required.

Jazz 

A classic American style of dance emphasizing movement combinations, strengthening, stretching, conditioning technique and progressions including turns, kicks and leaps. Whether it be Broadway or Commercial, our goal is to teach a strong and flexible technique allowing dancers to learn varied styles and choreography.

Lyrical 

A contemporary form of dance which emphasizes a combination of Ballet and Jazz performed to express the lyrics of the song.

Acrobatics 

A program focusing on floor tumbling skills plus partnering lifts and tempo skills. Grouped by ability, we will focus on floor acrobatics and stunting skills, while stressing safe progression, proper technique, stretching and footwork. This class is designed to improve balance, coordination, flexibility.

Modern 

A free motion form of dance dealing with the elements of space, time, weight, and energy. Modern is a codified technique created and became popular at the turn-of-the-century. Students focus on improvisation and creative expression.

Hip Hop 

This is an exciting urban style dance class which incorporates body isolations, movement combinations, and high energy with deep historical and social roots in African culture. Hip-hop dance refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture.

Musical Theater 

Focused on movement, acting, and drama, this class will explore the excitement and fun of theater through roll play, creative drama, improvisation, and the exposure to plays and musicals. The dance portion of the class emphasizes movement combinations, strengthening and stretching. Our goal is to teach a strong and flexible technique allowing dancers to learn varied styles and choreography based on Broadway Musicals.

Tap 

A rhythmic, energetic dance style, stressing time, accuracy, articulation of sound, performance & musicality. Students are also taught how to count music.

Fusion2 Dance Company 

Dance Fusion wants YOU to join Fusion2! Fusion2 Dance Company is an attendance-based, performance-focused, competitive dance team that emphasizes technique, artistry, showmanship, teamwork, and etiquette. It is designed for dedicated students who want to perform MORE. Fusion2 Dance Company provides more performance opportunities in both competitive and non-competitive settings.  ATTENDANCE & PARTICIPATION IN PERFORMANCES ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL COMPANY MEMBERS.

Level Breakdown

​

  • Creative Movement is designed for preschool children ages 2-3.   • Level I classes are designed for children ages 5-6 years old. Level I classes are designed for beginner dancers who are in Kindergarten or 1st grade.

  • Level II classes are designed for children ages 7-9 years old. Level II classes are designed for beginner to intermediate dancers in the 2nd to 4th grade.

​​

  • Level III classes are designed for children ages 10-13. Level III classes are designed for beginner to intermediate dancers in the 5th to 8th grade.

​​

  • Level IV/V/VI classses are designed  for intermediate to advanced dancers who have 4+ years of experience that are 12 to 15 years of age. Many dancers will cap off at level IV classes. Level V Classes are currently our most advanced level of classes offered. Most of the time students are 14 years of age and older when they go into this class level. These levels need admin/instructor approval for enrollment.
