Principal Objective of Position

Create a welcoming environment at the entry point to our dance studio where customers feel able to enroll in dance classes, purchase merchandise, and get their questions answered about their account, classes, or upcoming events.

Be professional while also friendly, warm, and inviting. Must be able to work in an environment that can be loud and filled with music and the squeals and laughter of young children. Has to be a team player who can work collaboratively with the leadership team of the studio, communicate effectively, be a self starter, and manage stressful situations with kindness and empathy.

Regular Responsibilities (responsibilities include but are not limited to):

Open and close the studio Service customer needs Sell merchandise Enroll and drop students Bill accounts Manage studio emails Answer telephone calls Monitoring studio cleanliness Monitor parking lot Post closure notices, etc Manage merchandise and restock inventory as necessary Manage financial statements and billing Ensure excellent customer care and service Monitor the studio email and respond to all emails or forward them to the appropriate person in a timely and professional manner Collaborate on project plans, marketing materials, social media posting and enrollment strategies Write/organize quarterly newsletters Organize and manage special events and special merchandise sales Ensure that all studio retail, products, and cleaning supplies are appropriately stocked Work closely with the owner and instructors to provide administrative support for all key areas of the business Any and all other project or tasks assigned by Studio Director Assist with organizing studio recitals and performances including costuming Oversee coverage of the front desk All assigned studio paperwork Manage dance instructors and other studio personnel Arrange coverage of classes in the event of an emergency instructor absence

Candidates will need to commit to working the following hours throughout the season:

3:00-9:30pm Monday through Thursday. Must be available for all studio events on site and on location events on several weekends.

Job Type:

Part-time Pay: $10-14/hr


Education: High School Diploma Required, Bachelor’s Degree Preferred. Experience: Participation in or knowledge of business administration or dance/fitness studio operations helpful, but not required.
